Choosing a clinical counsellor can be a challenging and courageous move for many. Knowing a little about myself and my background may facilitate this decision.

The process for me started with an educational background in Psychology and Occupational Therapy. Following this, the focus shifted to raising a family while navigating the many roles and relationships in day to day living. I have always been interested in understanding all things that make us human and have learned to appreciate and listen to the authentic aspects of common humanity, our need for connectedness to others and our environment, and the necessity for developing compassion for ourselves and others.
I respect and value mental health and wellness, recognizing that our celebrations and losses influence our opportunities for growth over the course of our life. I have successfully completed my Masters of Counselling and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselling (BCACC). I worked for 11 years as an Occupational Therapist in hospital and community-based rehabilitation programs in the areas of neurology, palliative care, extended care, and traumatic brain injury. I draw on personal and professional life experiences to provide counselling skills with research-based training. My approach is collaborative and client-centred, highlighting individuals’ existing resources and strengths to facilitate empowerment and momentum in the change process.
Outside of work, I spend time with my family and friends in the outdoors, mountain biking, skiing and hiking. Exercising mind and body are important to me and I constantly seek opportunities for lifelong learning connecting with my Self and the world around me.
